There is a version of Reddit that lives in a lot of marketers’ heads, and it is badly out of date. In that version, Reddit is a quirky niche forum where brands are unwelcome and money is hard to make.
The company’s own financials have quietly demolished that picture. Reddit is now a serious advertising business posting the kind of growth that makes established platforms nervous.
Reddit booked $690 million in ad revenue in the fourth quarter of 2025, a 75% jump from a year earlier, with its active advertiser count climbing at a similar pace. Those are not the numbers of a fringe experiment.
What the Growth Actually Signals
Rapid advertiser growth tells you something more useful than the raw revenue figure. It means a large number of businesses tried Reddit and decided to keep spending. Marketers do not renew on channels that fail them.
The mix matters too. Much of the momentum came from small and mid-sized advertisers and from lower-funnel objectives like conversions and installs. That is the profile of businesses using Reddit to actually acquire customers, not just to look modern.
It reflects a real shift in where high-intent attention lives. People increasingly arrive on Reddit already researching a purchase, which makes the platform’s audience unusually valuable per impression despite its comparatively modest size.
Why the Paid Story and the Organic Story Are Linked

Here is the part that a pure ad-buyer misses. Reddit’s paid surface and its organic community layer are not separate worlds. They reinforce each other, and treating them as isolated leaves most of the value on the table.
An ad that runs against a category where your brand is already discussed favorably lands very differently than one dropped into hostile or empty territory. The organic reputation sets the stage the paid message walks onto.
That is why the smartest programs, whether run in-house or by a reddit marketing agency, pair investment in genuine community presence with paid amplification. The community work makes the ads more credible, and the ads extend the reach of conversations that are already going well.
The Practical Reframe
The financial results are, in effect, a market verdict. Tens of thousands of advertisers testing Reddit and staying is a stronger endorsement than any case study a platform could publish about itself.
For a business still treating Reddit as an afterthought, the numbers are a prompt to reconsider. A channel growing advertising revenue at this rate, off a base of high-intent users, is not a place to dabble occasionally.
The opportunity, though, still belongs to those who respect how the platform works. Reddit rewards contribution over intrusion, and even its paid formats perform best when the surrounding brand presence feels earned. The money is flowing in because the model works. It works because it is built on communities, not around them.
